Company Law
A company is a business entity registered under the Companies Act. It is a legal entity with a separate identity from its members or operates. Therefore, it can be considered an artificial person created by the law. In terms of the Companies Act, 2013 (Act No. 18 of 2013), a “company” means a company incorporated under the Act [i.e. Companies Act, 2013] or under any previous company law [Section 2(20)].
