The Provincial Small Cause Courts Act 1887 was passed to consolidate and modify the law relating courts of small causes outside the normal civil jurisdiction of the High Courts of Judicature in the Presidency Towns (i.e., Fort William, Madras, and Bombay). The Act entered into force on the 1st of July 1887.
